All Sports Stadium, Oklahoma City
Oklahoma City is a rapidly growing city, and creation of new structures and attractions often involves the demolition of ageing buildings. One of these demolitions was carried out on the All Sports Stadium that was located in the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds.
Final Days of All Sports Stadium
The construction of the modern AT&T Bricktown Ballpark made the All Sports Stadium lose its significance. Opened in 1961, the ballpark was home to the Oklahoma RedHawks back when they were called the Oklahoma City 89ers. When the team was renamed and moved to the AT&T Ballpark in 1998, the All Sports Stadium was already decommissioned since 1997. It finally met with its demise in 2005.
The loss of the All Sports Stadium hasn't been felt much at all, thanks to the presence of the AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. Situated in a vibrant destination of downtown OKC - Bricktown, it is a happening location. Visitors can check out the myriad attractions the entertainment district offers and catch a game as well.
Helping visitors visit Bricktown and all the major attractions OKC offers is the Bricktown Hotel & Convention Center through its 24-hour shuttle service.
