Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City
The Vibrant Cox Convention Center in Downtown OKC
The
Cox Convention Center is the premier convention and event center in Oklahoma
City. Formerly known as Myriad Convention Center, it is still sometimes referred
to as The Myriad and at other times The Cox or the Cox Center.
Illustrious History of the Cox Convention Center
Throughout its history, the Cox Center has hosted concerts by Elvis Presley,
Led Zeppelin, Queen, Aerosmith, Janet Jackson, Guns N Roses, Boyz II Men, and
others. Sporting events held here include the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball
games of the 1994 and 1998 seasons, the Big 12 Women's Basketball Tournaments of
2001 and 2009, tennis, boxing, rodeo and indoor track events. The Cox Center has
been host to the annual Pre-Paid Legal convention for the past 10 years.
The American Hockey League team called the Oklahoma City Barons, call the Cox
Convention Center's arena their home. The hotel shuttle eliminates costly
parking issues and long walks from your vehicle to the Convention Center or any
other Downtown and Bricktown destination. After-hours and inclement weather are
two good reasons to be dropped off curbside. The 5 minute ride from the hotel to
the Convention Center is another good reason.
The shuttle runs twenty four hours a day and seven days a week. So if you are in
town for a trade show or hockey game at the Cox Convention Center, a rowing
event on the river at the Chesapeake Boathouse, business downtown, or, if you
are visiting a patient at the OU Health Science Center or OU Medical Center or
St. Anthony's Hospital , and they need you there at 3 AM the hotel shuttle will
take you and pick you up when you are ready to return. So, take advantage of the
Bricktown Hotel shuttle service and book your room at the Bricktown Hotel &
Convention Center.
Visitors to the city wanting to check out these events needn't be worried about
finding the right accommodation. Situated close to downtown OKC's attractions as
well as only a mile and a half away from the Bricktown entertainment heartland,
the Bricktown Hotel & Convention Center offers affordable accommodation that has
elements of Southern hospitality, convenience and exclusivity thrown in.
Call (866) 378-0966 (toll-free) or (405) 235-1647 to make your hotel reservations at Bricktown Hotel.
